What is the smallest / largest can you engrave?
Sizing is dependent on a few factors:
Object size: The size of the object determines if the object can fit in the machine in order to be engraved and measured by length, width and height.
Length: ~.25" min. / ~36" max.
Width: ~.25" min. / ~18" Max.
Height: ~.25" min. / ~12" max.
Keep in mind these are general specifications and the shape of the object also plays a factor.
Engraving size: 7.8 x 7.8" Max.
What is the difference between laser markeing, etching and engraving?
Laser marking, laser etching, and laser engraving are all techniques used to create permanent marks on a variety of materials, but they differ in their mechanisms, depth of material penetration, and the types of marks they produce. Below are the key differences between these processes:
Laser Marking: Surface-level process with no material removal, primarily altering the material’s color for clear, non-invasive marks. Suitable for a wide range of materials and applications, including part identification and barcoding.
Laser Etching: Involves shallow material removal, producing a slightly raised or indented surface. Ideal for marking metals and ceramics with moderate durability.
Laser Engraving: The most invasive process, removing significant material to create deep, tactile marks. It offers the highest durability and is commonly used for permanent, heavy-duty applications.
